It’s Official: Mike Brown To Coach Lakers

We told you earlier today about reports that Mike Brown was set to possibly coach the Los Angeles Lakers. It is now official: Mike Brown will become the new head coach of the Lakers later this week when he signs a four-year, $18.25 million deal. Brown will become the 22nd coach in the franchise’s history, adding his name to a roster of past legends including most recently of course Phil Jackson, Pat Riley, Jerry West, Magic Johnson, Kurt Rambis, and others.

The new coach will mark the beginning of a new offensive strategy for the Lakers.  Owner Jerry Buss said in a radio interview yesterday that the team would not continue using the triangle offense exclusively.
