Happy Birthday Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

There are millions of people who don’t consider this day more than another day off of work or school. Let us ALL remember that our lives would be different if Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr didn’t stand for the civil rights of millions of people who were discriminated against because they were poor – men and women of all colors who deserved better opportunities.

MLK always stressed non-violence and sought ways to bring people together who normally would not want to listen to each other. Many mediums help facilitate this exchange and sports is one of them.  It’s great to see how integrated sports has become since Dr. King’s day.  Not only are the professional sports leagues more diverse representing men of all colors but there are also professional women’s sports leagues and just as importantly, there is more diversity across the front office and back offices of many of these teams and leagues in America. A HUGE feat!

Thank you Dr. King for all you sacrificed.
Your dream is still alive in many of us.
This country has made great strides and has many to go but we so appreciate your effort to kick start the progress.
