American tennis greats Andy Roddick and Venus Williams served up some proof of their relevance in the sport at the Sony Ericsson Open in Key Biscayn, Florida yesterday. Andy Roddick defeated Roger Federer while Venus Williams came out victorious over Ana Ivanovic.
The tournament was Williams’ first since the 2011 U.S. Open. She will go on to play Agnieszka Radwanska from Poland.
Roddick, who is seeded at 31st place, will go on to play Juan Monaco in an attempt to rise up in the ATP rankings.
Tonight, Serena Williams will take on former world No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki after she, she like her sister, came out victorious last night in front of a record crowd. Also on tonight’s agenda: Juan Martin del Potro will challenge David Ferrer.
